PURPOSE:
To encourage children, youth and adults to stay healthy and safe by washing their hands.

*HANDWASHING:

WHY? It is one of the most important things we can do to prevent ourselves from getting sick and from spreading germs to others. Schools, in particular, are a place where we touch and share a variety of things. (hands, pencils, books, and other objects)
WHEN? Before you eat
After using the bathroom
After you cough or sneeze (when you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your arm, NOT your hands)
After playing inside or outside
After touching cuts, open sores or pets
HOW? Wash with soap and warm water
Wash all parts of the hand (fingers, between fingers, palms, wrists and back of your hands)
Scrub for at least 20 seconds (sing the song)

"WE WASH OUR HANDS" (JT's Song)
We wash our hands all the time
To destroy germs of any kind
We wash our hands all the time
By Just Thinking and using our minds,
Oh Yes! We wash our hands all the time
By Just Thinking and using our mind!
